March Week Four

GRAND WEEK REPORT
(AKA MARCH WEEK FOUR)

Are Celebrities a Good Role Model?

There was no microphone and speaker today due to some problem. The committee members were told to inform speakers today to throw out their voice. There was not many who came at the beginning, and the session started at 7.40am sharp.

Today's speakers were from unit J1 and J2.
This was the speaker for opening speech

Followed by the first speaker of the day.

The first speaker disagreed with the topic of this month. She claimed that celebrities tend to give many bad influences, and she gave some examples as supporting details. She also said that celebrities also influence people mentally, as in influence people especially youngsters to become celebrities as well. This is bad because most of the celebrities are uneducated; according to her. So she believed, many people would abandon their education and would not study.

While on the other hand, the second speaker agreed with the topic.

She started off by giving facts that celebrities held concerts to raise fund for poor families or needies. Next, she said that celebrities brought new fashion statement to people and introduced them into it. Then, she said that songs sang by celebrities has become the companions of many people, as in, songs accompanied them when they are bored and et cetera.

The crowd today. *sorry because the picture is not clear*

The closing speech.

As a closing speech, she summed up all the points mentioned by both speakers.

Thank you to everyone who turned up for Grand Week. Your attendance are very much appreciated. Do come again next week.

March Week One

WEEK ONE REPORT

Many of the committee members arrived late today and in fact, members of the speakers today were earlier. Many other English optionists were not early too; due to Physical Education test yesterday.

The audiences before the session started

The emcees of the day

The session today was carried out by a pair.

The girl on the left agreed on the topic whereas the girl on the thought the other way round.

The conclusion

Finally, the closing speech was given by the two emcees.

After today's session, Mr Earnest requested TESL Js to stay back, and put up a challenge. He wants the TESL-ians to bring a non-English optionist. He wishes to see more and more people becoming the audiences of Speaker's Corner every week. He also hope that each and every of the non-English optionist can bring another friend to come along too.

MARCH TOPIC (:

ARE CELEBRITIES A GOOD ROLE MODEL?

End of February

Advisor of Speaker's Corner IPGM Ipoh campus, Mr Earnest gathered J unit TESL-ians who came for week four session for some advice.

He commented that we should not interrupt when a speaker is speaking. It is because it will make the speaker to feel uncomfortable, and think as if the audiences are not listening. So if we make the speaker to feel that way, he or she will not be pleased to speak at Speaker's Corner anymore and will refuse to even come and listen.

Mr Earnest would also love if each of the J TESL-ians manage to bring another friend to be one of the audiences for Speaker's Corner. He claimed that it would be even better if the particular friend is from other option.

We do hope to see more and more trainees will come and listen every week.
